Get the Gtx 1060 with 6Gb memory, but watch the prices for a couple of weeks, as they are still dropping, but if cryptocurrency starts to rise up again, get one fast.

If you can afford it, go for the i5 8600k. It's got a higher base clock, and it's overclockable if you ever want to get into that.

If you have already got the i5 8400, go with that first, and see how it goes, no use spending the extra money if it is not needed, Don't let people talk you into getting into debt, it is easy to go too far for a very little benefit.

I'd go for the 8600k. Better clock speeds and more potential. And the ability to overclock should you wish. Overclocking is good fun. :wink3:

You could play all the games you have listed and more pairing the gtx1060 6gb and the 8600k.

If prices continue to fall you maybe able to grab a 1070 for good money.

Rumour has it new GPU's could drop in July.

Both look overpriced for what they are, and HP's are a notoriously bad company for desktop & laptop computers.

Have a look at the MSI and ASUS range make sure that the SSD is a least 500GB with a 1TB HDD Intel i5 or i7, check the clock speeds, get the fastest you can safely afford. Gtx 1060 with plenty of Gb memory https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/st/nvid ... ng-laptops

The Newegg Asus looks a good deal. But it's all up to you and what you want out of it! the other one looks far too dear for what it is.

P.s. If you live in America, you should be ok, but if you don't, be careful as the shipping costs from America are horrific.

Not that easy when you are on a budget. We are lucky to be able to get a computer at all. So i will take a gaming laptop over nothing at all

i5 option are i5 8400 = +€0 i5 8600k = +€60. if you can which would you recommend. With 1060 6GB.

The game i intend on playing eg.(FS19, ETS2, HOI4, Tropico) Strategy, Simulation mostly. Or how big of games could i go? Battlefield?
As j_maybury said if you're buying new it's worth stretching to the 8600K. More cores and more clockspeed so it's all good (and it meets the minimum specs of Battlefield, while the 8400 doesn't when compared to the 6600K listed in the minimum specs).

If you're looking at spending £1,500 on a laptop then I'd buy a desktop, use the TV as a monitor if you want to save a bit, and get a smaller cheaper laptop for your wife. For that sort of budget you'd easily be able to get a strong gaming desktop (even with a dedicated monitor) and a decent budget laptop (£350-450 or so for 1080p).

Gaming laptops 99% of time are horrible for anything non-gaming - they're usually hot, very loud, heavy, have terrible battery life, often a short life due to the heat, and are generally rubbish at everything but gaming (and even there they're gimped compared to a desktop). You really don't want to be spending £1,500 on a gaming laptop with a 1-year warranty!

Expensive or not I'd rather have the one in the first link. It has a good SSD and a separate data drive, any more need for data after that can be utilised by an external self powered by USB port HDD and these are low priced now with WD being a really good one. The second link is an hybrid drive only and much more to go wrong. Using an SSD to boot and operate the OS from is good, with a Data drive for the majority of programs. With more often used games placed direct on the SSD itself.
