Switching to PC for 19
Re: Switching to PC for 19
A lot of good information in this topic.
This could/should have been in the technical support part of the forum ...
For FS15 there was a "benchmark feature" ... anyone else besides me that wants this back for FS19?

I don't remember that feature, but I'd sure like to have it. It'd be nice to have at least

This is very true, and if you build your own you can save even more, well so people tell me...this_is_gav wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 9:53 amIf you're looking at spending £1,500 on a laptop then I'd buy a desktop, use the TV as a monitor if you want to save a bit, and get a smaller cheaper laptop for your wife. For that sort of budget you'd easily be able to get a strong gaming desktop (even with a dedicated monitor) and a decent budget laptop (£350-450 or so for 1080p).Wisfarmer17 wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 4:06 am Not that easy when you are on a budget. We are lucky to be able to get a computer at all. So i will take a gaming laptop over nothing at all
Gaming laptops 99% of time are horrible for anything non-gaming - they're usually hot, very loud, heavy, have terrible battery life, often a short life due to the heat, and are generally rubbish at everything but gaming (and even there they're gimped compared to a desktop). You really don't want to be spending £1,500 on a gaming laptop with a 1-year warranty!

Re: Switching to PC for 19
Apparently its not that hard, my friend said it only takes a little bit (1-2 hours). Personally I think the hardest part is getting all the correct parts.

Has anyone used ibuypower.com for purchasing a new gaming computer?

If you are thinking of a DIY build you will find there are some good tutors On YouTube, to help you build your own PC. Don't go with people like Jay's two cents or Linus tech-tips, as they go way over the top with stupid and unnecessary stuff like liquid coolants and RGB all over the case. Try someone like Carey Holzman.

How does this look for a computer? Is this overdoing it to run fs basically just wanna have a computer for general stuff plus the option to play fs on it.

If your budget can push it, get the PC I have ( in the link I provided in a previous post) as it is an absolute bargain for the price.Wisfarmer17 wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 1:30 am Ok thabks thats where i struggle not sure what i need and what i do t need when it comes to computers
