We don't use much double attach kit , not drawbar implements anyway , we have a 4 meter lemken power harrow which can piggy-back a seeder , and a furrow press on the 3 point at the front , that's about it everything else is operated independently

Along the same lines as the original poster.....my question
Is this...I am currently running a rather larger cultivator (away from the Xbox right now, but it’s massive and blue). Would it be more advantageous/cheaper having one worker spread slurry with a matched/smaller cultivator attached to the back (thereby getting it 2 tasks done in one path) rather than having multiple workers doing both tasks separately. Particularly on field 5 in goldcrest?

Thoughts? :hmm:

I think it all depends on the size(s) of the equipment you're running. If you are running smaller equipment then it makes sense to use the 6m slurry cultivator combos, if you're using larger equipment then it is not worth the effort.

Edit: Unless you need to free up that second tractor.

^^Ya exactly, if your running large stuff dont use it unless you need an extra tractor. But if your doing f5 dont use it, 6m will take awhile to get through that field, and you have to keep refilling the tank

If you're using the in game kockerling cultivator, I think it's 14.5m. Most slurry tanks without a cultivator are about 15m spread. If you put the 6m cultivator behind, it will take about 2.5 passes to cover the same ground. The other thing you need to factor in is the relative working speeds. The shop tells me that they all run at 10mph, but ISTR that the slurry tanker runs slower with the cultivator on the back, which would put the figures even further in favour of doing the operations separately, although I could be wrong.
If you want to streamline your operation, you could use a direct seeder and skip the cultivation, or a seeder which fertilises to skip the slurry.

Out here i see almost everyone running anhydrous ammonia tanks wired into their cultivators so you can get both jobs done at once. I use the zunhammer to get the same result with corn, beets, etc since you cant seed drill those.
