Equipment that isn't strictly speaking "farm equipment"

Post by MrSquealypig »

I was thinking about these Moffett forklifts we have at my work that lift themselves onto the back of flatbeds for unloading at a delivery site:

And I was wondering how everyone feels about vehicles that aren't really farm-related being added to the game.

I personally was drawn to FS when I saw all the interesting equipment you can operate, so I'm happy with anything that gets added for me to toy around in, but I imagine there are probably a few farm sim purists who may be annoyed by some of the vehicles that aren't specifically intended for use on a farm.

What camp do you folks fall into?

Honestly i don't see much use for it in FS17, not that i don't like it, but the way, the game is designed, the only real purpose for it would be the loading of seed and fertilizer at the store and attaching it to the trailer would be by simply driving to the back and hit "Q", as it isn't designed for heavy loads and besides early game or a few special cases, everything is heavy load in FS17. But for the next game with better integration i see much potential, if unloading woolpaletts is necessary or gives more money, potatoes and subar beet sold in boxes gives more money and so on, this would make a forklift really useful and this type of forklift in particular, as you would have it, where ever it is needed. The attaching could be improved in the next game aswell.

As said above, it would be amazing for going to the store for pallets and loading and delivering wool. I'd use the heck out of something like that. Sometimes I lease a skid steer or tele and leave it at the store for loading pallets. This would be a great alternative.

And as for the purist, just like I don't use the money cheat box, no one would have to use equipment that's not "farmy" enough for them.
FS22 is the best one yet. Fight me!

Well, atleast it should fit into the Game itself.
I never saw a Minion-Weight in RL nor in Games or Movies, so i also think it just dont fit here and totally destroy any Immersion.

The RL weights are frigging awesome. Are those yours?! Anyway, the whole "purist" thing is actually counter-reality IMHO. A "real" farmer uses whatever tool gets the job done, right? :confusednew:
