the point is that they want everything to be based off 3m intervals, this will better control compaction, its not about having wide or narrow tracks

:frown: I give up........ :frown: all I wanted to know is why the 700 comes with narrow tracks that doesn't destroy crops and the 800 doesn't come with narrow tracks and it does destroy crops you think both would come with the narrow tracks....... I guess I should have worded it different.

This is the current setup i'm using is the Horsch Challenger MT700E(3M) with narrow tracks so I don't destroy crops when i'm using the Garant PT 20000 with narrow tires to spray slurry. I'm just wondering why they didn't make the MT800E(3M) with the narrow tracks so you could use it like I do with the MT700E(3M) So you don't get crop destruction.since we already have the ingame MT800E.:biggrin2: *thumbsup*

Don't believe challenger offers narrow tracks for the 800 in real life because of the weight. Think the tractor is meant for the tracks to line up with the horsch air seeder tires, grain cart tracks, and for tillage with the cultivators to reduce compaction using those particular implements. The narrow tracked 700 series is meant to be used on the horsch corn planter, dry fertilizer spreader, and manure applicator.

In looking at the specifications of the MT700E & the MT800E tractors there is a 13,000lbs/5896kg weight difference. This is from the Challenger data sheet. The MT700e has an operating weight of 39,000lbs/17690kg and the MT800E has an operating weight of 55,913lbs/25,362kg. So narrow tracks would not be an option with something that weighs as much as the MT800E.

Nice find Lefe. I like the Horsch MT700 with the narrow tracks myself too. Question though, does it seem like it's a little too light in the backend to you?

Why are you spreading slurry on growing crops anyway?
