If we are lucky this will be a lovely new featuere in FS19.
I assume people don't use Seasons, unless they say otherwise.

Gingerjay wrote: Thu May 24, 2018 8:08 am Im sure they tried for 17, however the straps caused chaos with the vehicles collision boxes so it was abandoned. Hopefully they find a solution for 19 but ive managed fine up until now, well untill the AI traffic decides to spear you whilst manoeuvring (yeah im looking at you west coast traffic 😡)
Just attach the straps to the wheel hubs instead. This would also be fairly easy for MOD'rs to add to their existing models when converting them over.

If it is as simple as you guys write, then i wonder why Giants didn't implement it by now?

Sometimes the easiest solution is the hardest to find ... :chinese:

Because sometimes the most obvious things are found by an outside perspective. It's easy to miss the most obvious solution to something when you work on it all the time. Someone else may find a way to implement something you have been trying more easily if they haven't spent months and years looking at the same thing over and over again

I'd be fine with a locking script with no visual straps if those are the problem. Back as far as FS2011, there were mod trailers that would lock, and I mean LOCK vehicles to them. You could turn them over, run into them with a front loader, whatever... they would not come off the trailer.

Yes, I know how to drive and seldom loose loads. It's annoying when you're halfway to the destination and the load "creeps" off to the side for no reason whatsoever. This happens most often with tracked vehicles for me. Pallets and bales are simple (in my mind) because they are a standard size and shape. But if they can lock random pieces of wood to trailers, they can lock a tractor or combine.

Here's hoping!

People IRL (In real life) don't load a 12 ton vehicle on a flatbed semi trailer and just go on there mary way without chaining down the vehicle first. plz put this feature in the the game.
I totally agree with you.I hope it implemented in fs19.

i think BSM made a mod that you put these metal rail thingys on the side of your trailer and you could use straps to lock your stuff down... its pretty cool. i do not know if it has been released yet tho

Throw in mod vehicles too and I'd say it is practically impossible.
I don't think it is that complicated considering the straps already works on pallets and bales.
All 3D objects can have collisions. If the vehicle has a top collision then it shouldn't be that hard to adjust the straps recognize the vehicle and the collision and strap it down over it's roof.
Pallets and bales are very simple geometrical shapes compared to a tractor or other equipment.

And we don't want vehicles to be strapped down by their cabs and hoods, so it's kind of obvious why it might be a pain in the *** to actually make this happen.

I'm perfectly fine if they can figure out how to use load lock as a full on option.

one idea for chains is to make them attach to the attacher joints of the vehicles, and straps for the implements and tools that way less collision issues
