It's disappointing there's no word about grapes.
Or any other permanent crops.
Re: It's disappointing there's no word about grapes.
I’m kinda biased because I’ve only every been around rice wheat and soybeans on a farm so crops such as grapes don’t hold any real-time appeal to me personally that being said though there are other farming simulator games that have orchard type crops and giants should at least look into it because otherwise they could begin to loose the lead they have on other farm sims

Me too. Maybe Giants will reveal closer to FS 19 more information of possible other crops. Hopefully they will look into this matter, because fruit farming (vineyards, orchards, fruit trees etc.) is an aspect of agriculture that has not been represented in farming simulator yet.

I'm sure more crops will come like grapes and olives

For those on PC we already have Cotton, Oats and even Grapes on some modded maps.

I think this more aimed at fs19 than fs17

Who knows. It depends on where the new European map is going to based, as we've seen nothing of it yet. If it's based along the Mediterranean (or perhaps the American map might be based in grape country), then chances are we'll see grapes - it would be a bit silly to have just the standard grains in such an area.
I'd be willing to bet a DLC will introduce grapes or something though.
Personally I wouldn't be bothered about grapes though. It's not something that would sell a game or DLC for me anyway.

Those aren't permanent. You have to replant cotton & oats after each harvest.
I make jokes that others don't get.

Puns for days and as for other crops I don’t think they’ll have more than one left to announce because for 17 we got sunflowers and soybeans and then oilseed radishes as a special type of crop but they’re is dlc to think about as we got sugarcane in the big dlc for 17

It would be great if Giants would focus on olives and grapes for FS19, since New Holland have dedicated harvesters, tractors and equipment in order to farm these specialized crops. The smallest tractors in-game is actually not suitable for vineyards, since dedicated ones with smaller widths and tires are necessary. I am speaking on behalf of FS players who would like to engage in fruit farming in the game, which is quite frankly missing at the moment. There is no farming game in the market that will let you create your own vineyards (planting vines) and orchards (planting fruit trees) as well as tend to them like pruning. The possibilities are endless, it is like creating your own farm, if you like to specialize in this aspect of agriculture. Most people don't know but vineyards only give full production yield after the seventh year and the life cycle is around 35 years. Thereafter new vineyards has to be created. So, if this in-game the first couple of harvests yield will be lower, until the vineyard matures. This is the same with olives and other fruit trees. But only the future will tell what Giants will implement for FS19.

This wouldn't show up in FS19, since plans about crops are already finalized.
