I could be wrong here so forgive me but from my experience its more probably due to Sony and Microsoft making sure the game conforms to their strict rules etc before they release it as a digital download, i used to test for microsoft Flightsim for addons, you think threading an elephant through the eye of a needle is tough..lol

kind of weird if you ask me. Since 2 years ago it was available very early. Wtith the date December 31 2016. that was changed few weeks before release.

Why worry about this much even if you could purchase it now, you still can't play it until Nov. 20th anyways...

I never pre order games from psn store until i can start the pre download, which is normally 2 days before release. I often need those few days as my internet is fairly slow.

What is "pre-download"?
The last time I pre-ordered a game was probably a couple of years ago and I don't remember such thing.
So, if you pre-order a game these days, will it start to download a couple of days earlier from the release date so that you can start playing right away?

Not sure if they all do that but FS17 definitely did. I tried all sorts of tricks to get it to unlock early but no hope haha.

Still no Pre-Order. In commenting on why Pre-Order, most games will give you something if you Pre-Order. I see Amazon is giving a Mahindra Retriever Bonus DLC as a gift. Would be nice is Playstation offered something with Pre-Order.
