I was charged huge fee on returning a combine harvester after only few hours work.Dont understand

you get charged per running hour. so you pay for the initial lease, plus any running hours you put on it. one thing i am not sure if is you are charged the initial lease fee everyday, or if its just running time after the first day

so you have:
base cost: which is initial fee of renting it(the paperwork fee as I call it)
per operating hour: which is per running hour you use machine, whether it be driving or working, still adds up
per day: each day you will be assessed this fee for having the machine
