Hello,
I'm facing the issue of giants editor crashing when I add normal texture to a skinned bone part.
I'm exporting from 3DS Max, GE is up to date, normal file is fine (even used ingame defaulNormal), tried to export from maya and have the same issue.

does it work correctly when you remove the skinned bones stuff from the model or a testing purpose (make a backup before removal) ?
im not sure if skinned nodes support normal maps, but i guess the animals in FS17 also have normal maps on them so i dont see a reason why it shouldn't
on the other hand, are you sure that you're appling the normal map in a correct way to the material? i never used 3DS max so i can't speak for that program...

Yes, im applying it correctly. And it works fine if I remove the skin bones.
Tested on my laptop/desktop to test different settings, tested diff models (even a simple cylinder) and no luck
