John Deere_JD100K Forage Wagon Working Area

Post by Zagan »

Hello,
Just some questions about lines 98-100 in the xml for the John Deere JD100k forage wagon. Here is the part I'm talking about...

<workAreas>
<workArea startIndex="0>12|0" widthIndex="0>13|1" heightIndex="0>13|2" type="forageWagon"/>
</workArea

1st - Would I be correct in my assumption that this part controls the pickup area?

2nd - Could someone please explain exactly what each part of these lines do? I want to increase the width of the area that this wagon picks up from, but I also wish
to understand what all the numbers do and the format. Like for example;

widthIndex="0>13|1"

What does the "0>13|1" part refer to? How does this work? I see these kinds of lines with numbers, followed by a > and a line break in all mods. I assume the 0>13 means "greater than" like a math equation, but that would mean 0 greater than 13 so that doesn't make sense to me.

I know this is a real n00b question, but hey, I'm a n00b who doesn't want to stay a n00b and this is supposed to be the place to ask questions isn't it? I just want to understand what I'm doing before I do it for a change :p

Thanks

Doesn't anyone here know about this? I mean it's a simple question, and this IS a modding board. Where are all the modders?

A simple 'bump' would have been appropriate here. Now good luck getting a response with that post ^^.

Sorry, I can't help with this but maybe try asking on fs-uk.com, there seem to be a lot more modders on there than here.

Hello, Zagan.

All index numbers refers to i3d model. Just open i3d and study it. You'll understand the system within minutes.
In your case startIndex refers to a certain point pickup area "starts". widthIndex refers to a certain point where pickuparea ends. heightIndex "marks" the pickup area height. But again, check i3d, you'll get the point.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
Each item in an i3d file is under a parent object and has an index based on where it is. So 0>12|1 means it is in the 12 objects trees, and the second one in that list. So, in GE, moving the objects with the correct indexes will allow you to change the working width
