fuel tank problems

id like to know how to fuel my mobile tank. it has a fuel symbol in the purchase menu but i cant get fuel to go inside . iam in estancia lapacho and there is only one fuel station. i accidentally put liquid fertilizer in my tank but now its empty. could it be that i cant put fuel because it '''contaminated'''? i play on xbox one. thx

If the tank is at zero contents then it is not contaminated. You can buy a new one and check, tho.
What mod is it?

Try to pull just far enough from station as to not see the refuel icon in the lower right, have your help menu on and look on the upper left for the refuel R3 symbol. Also make sure your switched to the trailer.
