PC Mod Request Acre Counter

Hi, I'm new to Farm Simulator and just downloaded a John Deere 8R series tractor pack which I have spent quite a bit of time on in the real world. One thing that I wish the tractor had though was a acre counter to show how many acres/hour I'm covering. This would help me to know, for example, if I'm going to get a field finished before sundown, will 3 hours of fuel be enough to finish the field I'm working on, etc., etc..

I've searched all the download sights trying to find one and the closest I've come is a JD forage machine that has something like what I'm looking for. As soon as I opened the file to see if I could use any of it to make my own mod I was totally lost. I have done some programming and fiddling around with xml in flight simulator (FSX and P3D) but the file setup for FS17 is a totally different beast.

Is what I'm wanting to do even possible? I haven't seen a variable anywhere that would take into account the width of the equipment and the speed of it to calculate acres/hour.
I'm wondering if it would have to be converted from hectares to acres, if so I think I'm really over my head.

All advice will readily be accepted. Or if some kind soul wanted to just make one for me I'd even think about buying him a beer next time we meet!
