Train Crane scale bigger?

I'm trying to scale the train crane length to 1.5 to fit a new mill that I'm working on but the movement seems to scale along with with it which makes it go beyond the base/leg visuals.

I've tried scaling the overall to 1.5 and then scaling the movement piece down to .5 to revert the moveable size back down to the original size, but the movement still goes beyond the base so it seems the function calls are based off the main scale.
