Problem with TDK302 Overloader Fertilizer tender trailer

I've been trying to use this mod trailer TDK302 as a fertilizer tender. It works great except for one big problem. The tongue weight (at least I assume that is what the issue is) is so high that it makes the front of the tractor light and makes steering a gongshow, when there is any load at all in the trailer, and even to a slight extent when the trailer is empty. I've tried it with two different tractors with two different front weights each and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Has anyone else experienced this problem and maybe know a fix?
