I'm about to create a new mod map for FS19 - and I'd like to use some of the original textures found in the root data folder. But when I open them with photoshop, it goes all black, and when I'm trying to import them to 3ds max (2019) it will not load, saying "invalid file header". Is the textures somehow encrypted, and why?
How do I open and use these files? It doesn't make much sense that Giants will forbid modders to edit or use the stuff in the data folders...

Try to save the texture as a .png file with paint.net and then open it in Photoshop. From there when u edited the image you can save it directly from Photoshop.
