Place Anywhere

Hi,

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but gonna try anyway.

I'm farly new to FS19, never played FS before. So i was trying some mods. One of them was the Place Anywhere mod. After a while i wasn't using it anymore and thought why not remove it from the startup(when you start the game) and reactivate it when i want to use it again.

So i tried. The mod is gone ingame. It is still in my mod folder /games/Fs19/mod(someting like that) but not ingame. How can i fix this? I deleted the mod from my pc, reinstalled it ect. But no mod ingame.

Think you have somehow renamed your zip file and thus screwed it up. Make sure your Place Anywhere mod file is named FS19PlaceAnywhere.zip otherwise it'll stop working and not show up properly in game.

I think that could be the issue. I renamed some mods. But now the FS19PlaceAnywhere.zip is the same name as the mod. I can try to delete the rules in the .txt file, save it and try again.(keep a copy of the original ofcourse)

Please clean your mod folder, it seems you have multiple files in there, which are not in the zip format. Mods should always be zip files and not extracted, unless its a pack which contains multiple zip files, then only the child zip files should be in the mod folder, not the parent one.
Regarding naming mods. Allowed are "A"-"Z", "a"-"z", "0"-"9", "_" and nothing else, please make sure, all mods follow this pattern, otherwhise the won't load.
Your placeAnywhereMod is probably downloaded from some shady site, the only proper sites to download that kind of mod is https://github.com/napalm00/FS19PlaceAnywhere/releases for the standalone mod or https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.p ... _id=137078 for the globalcompany mod, which has an option to enable such a feature

Yeah re-download and use the proper version of Place Anywhere from the GitHub link above by Juf. Also make sure to follow his other advice as well, never unzip mods in your mod folder unless a you've downloaded a mod that contains several zip files in one. Never rename Zip files ever. This breaks links and scripts which use specific file paths based on the mods name. Finally if you do download Global Company, do not ever use their Extended Placeable mod that comes bundled with it, delete that and continue using Place Anywhere, it's the much better and vastly superior mod.

And, i didn't know that you don't have to unzip the mod. So, i will delete the mods wich i have unzipped and renamed tonight and redownload them. Only the Place Anywhere mod isn't working by the way. All other mods are working fine.

Like i wrote, you loaded it from some shady website, take the one from the github, thats where the modder published his mod.

I did a cleanup. Redownloaded the mods and the placeanywhere mod from github. It is working now. But if http://www.farmingsimulator19mods.com/ is shady, what are good download sites for mods?

besides the official mod hub (https://www.farming-simulator.com/mods. ... country=gb) the best site for players without much experience would be https://www.yesmods.com/, as they test the mods and help you therefor in finding good mods. In general site with a comment section AND comments tend to be better then sites without comment section or comments.

As an example modhoster.com has some shady stuff aswell as some good stuff, but in many cases you can check the comments, if the comments are deactivated you will have to check the log.txt though and see if there are any errors.

Other smaller good sites are https://www.lsfarming-mods.com/news/?l=2/, https://www.modding-welt.com/?l=2 and https://ls-modcompany.com/?l=2, however most of there desciption is in german, aswell as most of the comments.
