Modding problem

Post by Iffycracker »

Hello there

I have a problem with making changes to an existing mod.
I want to remove the light bar (or make it a store option) from a tractor but after I remove it with giants editor and delete the lines form the xml the mod doesn´t show up ingame.
I´m fairly new to modding and it might be something obvious, so bare with me.
Any advice?

If you can share your log it would be helpful in finding the problem

It depends on how the light bar was placed in the assembly tree.
By deleting it, you probably messed up the order of the follow up nodes/parts. With this, the xml entries for those parts will not reference to the correct items in the i3d file.

Instead of just deleting something from the i3d file, just uncheck the visibility in the attributes toolbar on the right. That way it is not visible in game, but will not mess up the nodes order.
Deleting the respective lines in the xml should be no problem.

But yeah, as mentioned: the log would be really helpful.
