Export from GE

Post by KevinMn »

Is there a different way to export objects from GE, or maybe a way to import directly into Maya/Blender som i3d?
On a lot of models it completely ruins the mesh upon export, where vertices are merged when they should be separate, and vice versa.

It should be possible to edit something, without spending hours fixing the mesh.

Not as far as I know. Export to OBJ is the way to go...

I just don't understand why the mesh is ruined that much. Their Fendt 1000 is probably the best example of that, the hood is almost not usable.

It could also be nice to export both UV maps, for those that have 2.

Yeah, it's far from perfect. Lot is lost with OBJ, I had no issue with messed up meshes, though (knocks on wood).

The best would be an import add-on for Blender which ingests i3d directly. But that's way beyond my Python skills.
