OPC UA connection to industrial controller

Post by Celurius »

Hi,

I have an interesting use case for a tech demo that I am working on that I need some help with. I work in industrial automation and wanted to see if I could connect a tractor in farming simulator to a real industrial automation system.

To do this I need to get values for set points from Farming Simulator to be able to pass them to the automation server.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the data from Farming Simulator for the state of tools. For example if the PTO is on, is the attachment elevated or lowered, is the attachment on (sprayer), what is the fertilizer width? If I could find a way to get these sorts of things outside of the software and for example light up a LED on an arduino then I could pass these same values to a PLC and interface the software with a real touch screen that we use.

Has anyone tried anything like this or could help me get the values outside of the software?

Thanks Richard
