64 KM x 64 KM map making

Post by Santi / UYModding »

Hey there Everyone!, i been working on a huge 64 km x 64 km map, sadly i haven't find a base map of that size (only 16 x 16 km maps), i already tried making a 64 km base map but it just crashes my computer when im resizing the images (roughDirt01 for example, doesn't matter the program, it's because my pc doesn't have the sufficient power to handle that), could you help me with the map and make a base of that size? (65.536 pixels x 65.536 pixels), if you could help i'll give you credits in the map :)!, Greetings form Uruguay!

EDIT:
fixed, it was because i puted a ´ in the name of my map it was causing the errors (Tacuarembó), btw my laptop has 4gb ram, 64gb ssd, intel uhd 600 graphics and a intel celeron n4000, i tested the map and in promedy it was 40-45 fps :).

I believe you are just trying to make too big of a map. a 16 km x 16 km map is a 64x map meaning its 64 x the size of a standard map. 64km x 64km map would be a 256x map or 256 x a standard map. I dont think any computer is going to run a map that big. Maybe you misunderstand the map sizes?

A standard 1x map is 2km x 2km
A 4x map is 4 standard maps = 4km x 4 km
A 16 x map is 16 standard maps = 8km x 8km
A 64 x map is 64 standard maps = 16km x 16 km
Playing on PC and PS4

JESUS CHRIST! It would take a literal 40 minutes to get across that map. Too bad rams didn't come with 1 terabyte rather than 8 gigabytes.

hey there!, sorry for late response, i already fixed the problem (the problem was that i added a ´ in the name of the map) still i didn't misunderstod the map sizes, if i remember right there was a south brazilian fs19 mods page that was abandoned and no longer exist that had a tutorial on how to make a fs map larger than 64x (128x, 256x and 512x) and well i just tested that tutorial that i had saved in a txt document and well somehow my trash laptop (4gb ram and a trash intel processor) actually managed to run the map without problems (40-45 fps with foliage and some details in the map added), if i can with time i be posting some progress with the map :)!
