FS17 runs very poorly on I7 7700K

Post by SenSeo »

Already found my answer it's simply not good enough for gaming.

I just changed <renderer>D3D_11</renderer> to <renderer>D3D_12</renderer> in game xml.
Currently on 1920x1080 low settings.Overal 60fps on vanilla gcv but sometimes it drops to 30 on farm but not always, very weird.
Gonna try medium now.

edit:medium was a fail, severe stutter and frame drop on farm.Back to low then...

In order for others to provide some assistance here more information about your setup would be helpful, for example what graphics card you have installed in the system. Therefore you might want to post the log.txt of the game (see the link 'log.txt' in my signature for instructions).

I am surprised it ran that well on instigated graphics.

Found a tool called NVIDIA Profile Inspector it tunes games to run better on nvidia cards.Just installed it and i noticed right away that the game started up faster i can click so fast i don't hear the music.Jumping from vehicle to vehicle was also faster i cannot even push fast enough to beat it lol.
I think i also should see better performance when a lot of vehicles are in one spot like all on the farm.

Frames seem to be more stable but are now limited to 150 but that's ok.Before i had 250 in some spots and panning over billboards for example made them better readable when panning fast.At 150 they are still readable but slightly more blurry.I'll take that :)

btw do you guys perhaps know if it's possible to permanently disable the games frame limit?
I have a 240hz G-synq monitor now and i have set the refreshrate at "highest availlable"
The description says that by doing so the limit of the game is replaced with the highest limit of the monitor but i still need to do it manually in game with F3.

Here's the download link for the Nvidia Inspector: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/thre ... 13.234008/

Just tested with inspector tuned gtx960 4gb on vanilla gcv new game frames don't drop below 88 at the farm not bad.Clearly higher than before.
Before i had my G-synq monitor my main screen was an older 27" led monitor from Phillips.
I used it only for modding bc refresh rate was terrible compared to my plasma.
This new monitor finally eleminates this problem that's been bothering me for so long.
Contrast and colors still not as good as my plasma but it's more than acceptable.

I do have a new problem now and i don't like it.Tried every setting possible but with the new monitor it is no longer possible to run the plasma from the same card
as good as it did before. Before the plasma was good and the Phillips bad,now it's the other way around.
I have weird artefact with the plasma now and i can't seem to get rid of it.

I tried running the plasma from the igpu and the Asus G-synq from the peg but that don't work at all
Is there another way i can still have my plasma for gaming?
Would running it from a second card work?

Forgot something, there is another awesome thing that i can do now that i could never eeeeever do before, not in win7,not in 10.
Now i can press the Windows key while the game is running,do something on the desktop and go back in the game without any influance on my game whatsoever.
I could not do this before without having bad artefacts in my game afterwards and the only way out of it was restarting the game.
Not anymore, thank god for that it was soooo annoying.
Talked about it here many times and also elsewhere and i never understood and still don't why noone was able to help me.Must have been a very isolated problem.

I did change something that i never changed before under desktop size and position in nvidia menu though.
I have selected no scaling now.Changed a few other settings aswell before noticing the desktop thing so i'm not sure what did the trick.

So I've downloaded and run the inspector, how exactly does it work? Does it automatically improve everything or what?

Smith, select farming simulator 17 in profiles top left and then click apply changes on the right. That's all i did and i see improvement. You can tweak a lot of stuff there but i don't know much about that i just found the tool by looking at a yt channel called "lowspecgamer".I bet he knows exactly what to do to make the game run smooth on a less than top spec pc.It seems like most of his videos are about laptops though.Maybe he has a video somewhere where he explains how the tool exactly works but i havent't found it.
