I have since found out that my One drive file has taken over, I found this out when I moved the mods folder to J:\ instead of J:\FSmods\ then booted the game to find that the mods were still loaded, It turns out that "One Drive" has taken over the roll that the C:\Users\j_may\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2017 used to do...

Look for:

Code: Select all

<modsDirectoryOverride directory="C:/Temp" active="false"/>
change that to:

Code: Select all

<modsDirectoryOverride directory="your mods location folder" active="true"/>
Sorry it is a old post but I figured out the code needs to be updated! (As to why its not working for me and others)

Code: Select all

   <modsDirectoryOverride active="false" directory="C:/Temp"/>
The active="true" is in wrong place then orignal posted then what is currently in my "gamesettings.xml"
hope that helps others. Plus answer a question

You open "gamesettings.xml" with Notepad or Notepad++ then find that line and edit it.

Don't touch the parameter <modsDirectoryOverride> and use this software: FS Mod Manager 5, it works fine for me since many years. With it, you can put your mods everywhere you want.

(Sorry for my bad english)
