Dedicated Server requirements

can anyone enlighten me on the requirements in CPU (#cores) and Memory for a 16-player Dedicated Server.

You really don't need much, just a computer that has a connection to the internet. This computer will not be able to play on the server, you are just wanting a computer just to run the dedicated server page right? Then yeah, you don't need much, a simple laptop will do the job well. I have set a dedicated server up on a Intel Pentium E5300 w/ a Radeon 5450 GPU back from 2007 and ran the dedicated server web page just fine.

Well, I imagine I will not need a GPU.
And I need to run more than the webpage, ie the FS Server itself. And I what I don't know is how much CPU or DRAM do I need to run 16 players on a 4x4 map with a bunch of mods. Was wondering if anyone had any experience.

Ok, CPU shouldn't be a much of a problem then. I would just try it and see what happens.

For the computer to go onto the game, you can't because you are using the same key. All you need is the webpage and that's it to activate online or deactivate it to be offline. You don't even need to run the game at all, except enter your product key and update the game and that's it.

• A separate Farming Simulator 17 license is needed for each Dedicated Server. You can't play with the same license key as a client on a server.

• 2.4 GHZ CPU (Intel or AMD)

• 2 GB RAM

• 6 GB free hard disk space

• Fixed IP address and permanent Internet connection

• No graphics or sound card required

Yep. Cool, I found this as well. But it doesn't say anything if it's good for 16 players and a bunch of mods.

I will not be using the same key. I will have two copies of the game. One for my PC where I play, and one for the server.
And it's for the server computer I need to understand the requirements. I need to allocate memory and cores in a VM.

Thanks, I am moving forward with my plans then. I am aiming for a bit more Memory and Disk than what was specified.
Looking at 1 vCPU and 4GB RAM and 30-50GB SSD disk.
