TrackIR enable/disable

Is there a way to use normal mouse/keyboard for looking around when TrackIR is put into pause mode. It appears that when TrackIR is in pause mode the view is frozen straight ahead. I use TrackIR in other games such as Flight Sims, Elite Dangerous etc. and often freeze TrackIR and fall back on the traditional view controls. I can't use TrackIR 100% of the time. Is there a way around this with FS17?
