Of course it would, why wouldn't you think so? That is top-of-line! :D

There is no 4GB 1080ti. They are all 11GB.

Do you mean a 1050ti?

My i5-6200u @2.4ghz with a geforce 940 4gb runs this game better than my ps4 does. It may be the only game it runs but, It's the only one I want to play on pc. So I think people don't see, that you don't need a high speck pc to run farm sim 17

Well ...
The game is playable with an "average" PC ... however, if you want to be able to run it at the maximum settings, use lots of mods and play a savegame with loads of equipment, plenty of bales and such and on a "heavy map" ... my setup is just barely managing this!
I am actually thinking about getting a better GPU ... :smileynew:

Very true W1der. Since I've playing for a a few weeks it would be nice to be able to run on max everything. I'm just a console player still amazed at everything pc has to offer for farm sim. I really want to build a crazy powerful pc, but just need to get doing it.

That doesn't sound right. What resolution are you running at? GTX should crush it maxed out in anything but maybe 4k.

I am only at 1080p ... BUT I have pushed the settings in the game.xml.

Code: Select all

<foliageViewDistanceCoeff>3.250000</foliageViewDistanceCoeff
I used to have this set to 3.75 but the other day I had to turn it down after purchasing the Holmer Terra Dos T4-40 (running an operation with 3 or 4 helpers) ... :neutralnew:
But I have been looking in to the Nvidia settings a bit ... there is so much in there I do not understand .. not sure if I am running with optimal settings ... :confusednew:

I also edit those settings and in the XML and even with my GTX 1080 I can only push them so far or I get huge frame dips especially when quick switching through tractors at the end of the map, even if I am running at 1080p. With my folige at 3.00 I can get a solid 60fps in 4k. I also found some maps like Stevies maps have already increased those settings in the map itself, so when you set Foliage to 3.250000 it's really like it is 6.5000.

I wouldn't touch the nvidia settings and leave them and just let the game settings handle things.

Yea ... I noticed that also ... and for the most time I am having very little issues with lag.
The game I have with most hours played (and most equipment in use) is GCV, so I am using that as a reference.
Other maps I play I do more work manually and use less hired help. I guess that helps to avoid lag. On GCV I use as much hired help as I can.

So ... how do I make sure the Nvidia settings are letting the game "handle things"? :blushnew:

In the Nvidia control panel have everything set to Application controlled.

Explain "everything set to Application controlled" ... :confusednew:
I found where I can make settings for FS17 ... but most of them are just "global settings on/off" ... should this be set to "on" or "off" to let the game decide?
Some of these has also "automatic" as an option !?
Some also has the option "use the 3d-program setting" ... !?

This is really confusing!

Go to the Program Setting, select FS17 and turn everything to application controlled or if that isn't an option, turn it off and everything will be controlled with the game settings. I think this should be the defult anyway.

I realized that there was an explanation for the different settings showing (when I hovered over them with the mouse pointer) ...
Made some "logical" changes to optimize performance with minimal "graphic losses" and set everything with "let the game decide" to that ...
My game does not look as detailed as before but "good enough" ... and all the "micro lag" I had is gone.
