I am having major frame drops after 20 minutes of gameplay since the latest windows update.

After 20 minutes my frame rate drops for solid 60 to the 40s.
I have tried everything including reinstalling windows and starting up a new game with no mods on defult Goldcrest and it still reappears after 20 minutes or so. I am about at wits end here. Since I reinstalled windows it will not let me roll back to the previous version.

At first I thought it was the seasons mod and those guys generously helped me trouble shoot for several hours but turns out that wasn't the culprit at all.

Also just tried with an unlocked frame rate. Starts at 150-200 and still drops to 30s after 20 minutes.

Check your resolution and graphics settings. I changed my settings from high custom to the high setting, and my resolution was off what it should have been. I did that and it fixed the issue for me. What is the key to unlock the frame rate? I know F2 is show frame rate

Interesting. People on another forum I use have also been reporting something similar, just not with FS17. Maybe Microsoft have a bug in the latest update.

With the dev console enabled, the frame limiter is toggled using F3.

Not a res issue. My system handles 4k on FS easily

I can't believe you are still having problems with this. If it's any consolation, I've updated my Windows 10 last night and now since then it keeps restarting after logging in or blue screening. Nice.

So I'm am testing it now with unlocked frame rate just sitting there in game not moving at 720p resolution.

Minute 1 180fps
Minute 2 150fps
Minute 3 115fps
Minute 4 100fps
Minute 5 90fps
Minute 6 80fps

Minute 9 65 fps

After a while it will slowly continue to drop and het down to 30. The lower it gets the longer it takes to fall.


It holds steady slowly declining , no drops or spikes. Like it will flick back and forth between 51 and 50 for a bit then between 50 and 49.

I downloaded Nvidia Driver 376.33 from December and everything is working fine now. Something with the latest driver and the windows was messing things up.

Thanks, I thought it might have been Windows 10, just thought I'd make sure. I don't think I have had any problems. Glad you figured out it was the graphics driver.
