Farming Simulator 2017 on HP 8540p laptop

Hi,

I have seen the system requirements for FS2017. Among others it says "Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 Series, AMD Radeon HD 6770 graphics card or better (min 1GB VRAM)".

I have installed FS2017 on a HP 8540p laptop (i5 processor - 8GB RAM). Initially it seemed to run fine. But now it has rendering problems.

Is that a software issue? So I need to install/update graphics drivers? How can I tell if this HP 8540p fullfills the hardware graphics requirements?

When reading the forum here I understand FS2017 is using Steam? When you install from DVD, does it always install the latest Steam DLLs? And how can I update FS2017 to the latest patch? Is there a logfile which I can inspect for problems?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

since the Model of the laptop doesn't give much information about the hardware we'll need some more information to be able to tell if it is suitable for running FS17 or not. Since you already have installed FS17please post the log.txt file of the game (see the link 'log.txt' in my signature for instructions) which will tell us what graphics card you have installed, if the drivers for the graphics card are up-to-date and if the game is up-to-date itself.

If you bought the game on DVD it is not using Steam at all. To be able to use Steam with FS17 you'll need to buy the game directly via Steam.

The DVD-Version of the game cn be updated by downloading the Updater from http://www.farming-simulator.com/update ... country=us and then running it.

Post the log, and if there isn't a ton of errors, it may be a driver issue. Do you know what graphics card you have?

Thanks for the hints/tips. I will try them in the weekend. Currently (during the week) - unfortunately - I am not at home due to work. So I cannot continue with FS17 until it's weekend.

The laptop has NVIDIA NVS 5100M graphics card.

As Smith Modding already mentioned, please post the log.txt file of the game, so that we can see all the details about your hardware, drivers etc. that are relevant for the game. OK - here is the logfile. Note that in general the game works, but sometimes the screen completely blurs.

According to the log it looks like the driver for your graphics card is quite old, its from 2013:
