Uploaded Save, someting weird happening..

I uploaded a friends save to a server so I could work on the farm when he's not around. Thing is, he can't log in as an admin and its like his character is a cope of himself from when he was playing and had it saved locally. Both instances of him are displayed in the screen taht shows whos on your map. It's like NAME then right below it NAME(1)...could that be preventing him logging in as admin and if so how do i go about resolving it?
