Can I Use An Unofficial Xbox 360 Controller?

Hi,
I am new here and so I am sorry if this has already been asked.
I have just ordered this game for PC and I was thinking of using the Xbox 360 controller, but as these are a bit expensive I was wondering if I could buy one of the generic controller types with the same button configurations.
Has anyone else done this, and are there any compatibility issues? I would hate to waste £10.00 when the game will only pair with an official controller.

I'm using a Logitech F310 and it works perfectly fine.

in the end I ordered an official controller, guess it's not worth the risk concerning the non branded controllers,
Logitech is different but it is branded and so more likely to be configurable in the game than the cheap versions I was looking at. maybe?

I use a Logitech F310 too, and it works great. If the official ever fails you could buy one of those for $20 or $30
