Issue with steering wheel

I have been playing with a logitec G920 wheel and pedals for months with no issues but today i load my game and find that i have a huuuge deadzone. I have to turn almost 90 degrees before the wheels start to turn. I restarted the logitec controller software and tried again with no joy. I restarted the computer and tried again and it is still all messed up. Anyone know why, all of a sudden, this would happen and how to go about fixing it. The only thing i can think of that has changed is a windows update but this has happened many times without any effect on my wheel.
