Computer Recommendations

Post by charlesc1717 »

Anyone out there have a recommendation on a computer that will run this game efficiently? I'm looking to upgrade and just want to know what everyone out there is running currently. I have an Mac Desktop but I want to get a PC this go around. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I've been running FS17 on an iMac without issues (you can find the specs in my signature), therefore I'm wondering what kind of 'Mac Desktop' you have and why you want to switch to Windows?

i have a iMac 27" 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M. I want to get the steering wheel and I don't think that it will work with the Mac. I also noticed that when i went from FS15 to FS17 i have a lot more lag so I'm expecting it to get worse with FS19.

This is a tricky question ... as it all comes down to what you mean by "efficiently" ...

I also used to play this game on a mac similar to the one don_apple has but the GPU mine had was not for gaming so I bought a WIN10 PC (see my signature for specs).

I am "happy" with how my setup is handling this and other games ... but it is getting stressed when I crank the viewing distance up (note: my game style for FS17 involves lots and lots of extra placeable trees and other placeables).
Also, I am a bit over sensitive towards lag ... but generally my rig is performing smooth at "1080" as long as I stick to the most basic / well made mods.

If you run WIN 10 you will probably have better support / more options when it comes to "controllers" ... (I have a lot of them).

I am planning on getting a stronger GPU ...

If you mean the special steering wheel that was created by Saitek (now owned by Logitech) for Farming Simulator (https://www.logitechg.com/en-gb/farm-simulation), then this will work without problems on macOS.

I have amd Ryzen 3 1200 cpu and a gtx 1050ti gpu, 4gb, 128gb ssd 8gb ram and I run this game with ALOT of mods on medium (with many settings on high to very high) 60 fps, with some drops if I have alot of stuff in the same place.

If you look at my specs, it comes out to a price of about $700-$800. I play on max settings with an almost rock steady 60 FPS, with frame rates going down maybe 1 or 2 FPS if I'm in a heavily congested area (i.e, lot's of placeables or equipment). Granted, I have overclocked my GPU so I am seeing better performance.

I run an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (at least I think it is a 1700; whatever number is one below the Threadripper) with 8mb RAM, and GTX1060 3MB GPU, and FS17 runs at Very High Custom with no lag until the last few settings get to the very highest value available. Internet suggests this is a very middle of the road gaming setup by modern standards. In any respect the game looks friggin awesome and runs flawlessly from my point of view.

I have a question for PC and Mac requirements for farming simulator 19. I would like to have at least 500 mods downloaded as well. For PC what Specs should I get where the game will run without any problems. The same question applies for Mac computers, what specs should I get where it will run smoothly without any problems. I currently have a Mac which is running a 3.1 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5 processor, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 memory, and AMD Radeon Pro 5300 4 GB graphics card. I should also add that I only have roughly 64 gb of storage remaining.

I know little about computer gaming so any input would help.

The setup in my sig (desktop not the laptop) runs FS19 maxed out with 1000 mods loaded in.
Also this is the FS17 section.

I would like to recommend "Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3" - https://productz.com/en/lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3/p/xlKZr. You can smoothly play game in this laptop.
