From Ryzen 3 1200 to Ryzen 5 1600x

Would it make a big difference in fps to go from a Ryzen 3 1200 3.1 ghz 4core To a Ryzen 5 1600x 3.6 ghz 6core? Te rest of my system is a gtx 1015ti gpu and 8gb.ram and a 120gb ssd.

Because the problem I'm having is that I get fps drops at the main farm on any save i start once I get some equipment and bales and such.. I play on medium with some settings on high so I wold rather by a new cpu then turn down the settings :biggrin2:

Since there can be many different reasons why the FPS drop it will be difficult to say if upgrading the CPU will really help in your case.

Before spending money on new hardware I would therefore recommend to try to analyze fist what exactly is causing the FPS drops. You can find some tips on how to do this in the folowing thread: viewtopic.php?f=893&t=124978

Okey thank you for that. But do you know if cpu cores and threads make any big difference in FS? I know clock speeds do but I'm not sure about the other..

make sure the in the task manager that farming sim is set to high priority. Most of the load is on a single core so I would stay with a stronger per core setup. I have a 1700 and i finally have it running rock solid but I have to make sure I set it up correctly when i get it started up.

Okey thank you for the advice but it didn't do anything to the fps.. I have Googled around and I have tried just about everything.. The thing is that I have steady 60 fps all over every map I try, but once I get some gear and som bales and stuff the fps at the yard goes down but only in certain places and not where you would expect.. Just random places..! And I really notice when it goes down under 60 so it's really frustrating..!

Even with all stock equipment on say goldcrest valley? I will not get lag on goldcrest until around 30 vehicles or so all in one place

If I am correct, certain maps, certain areas of maps and certain mods have a impact on fps....

I get a dip to 35 fps in certain areas, but only for a brief moment. 99% of the time I'm a steady 60.

A new CPU isn't gonna make a very big difference in FOS, but it will help. The frame drops is probably a result of the GPU. I have a 1050ti and I get really good FOS unless a lot (15+) vehicles or a ton of bales are in the same area

CPU can massively affect the fps, I had a pentium 4 g840 and swapped it for a i5 2400 and notice a big difference. I'd go for it azfoor, the r5 ryzen is considered a very good CPU.

I am majorly limited to what I can do in my series using a 1700. If the object count jumps up I get CPU lag, my graphics card isnt even really running with this game but it does work super hard on a single core.

Image

That is my CPU load, now be mindful that I have affinity setup to where the first 4 cores of my CPU are focused on FS17. The load from the other programs is focused on the other cores. My GPU percentage is around 35%, but some of that is from YT. 40fps is only because of the F8 menu but I do get drops in this area anyways to around 52 or so, which does drive me nuts and causes some issues with recording.

My setup is R7 1700 @ 3.7 and coming from a I54440 that I never had FPS drops with I can say for sure that it is my CPU causing my lag.

Everything that is rendered on the screen, first is calculated by the CPU. when the area has a lot of details, moving objects etc you need a CPU that will calculate it all. you can reduce the distance of the level of details (LOD) and also for objects.should reduce the CPU load. I recommend using MSI Afterburner https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner

Can You just try this settings?
game.xml
<graphic>
<scalability>
<gpuPerformanceClass>auto</gpuPerformanceClass>
<performanceClass>High</performanceClass>
<shadowQuality>2.000000</shadowQuality>
<shaderQuality>3</shaderQuality>
<anisotropy>16</anisotropy>
<viewDistanceCoeff>0.600000</viewDistanceCoeff>
<lodDistanceCoeff>0.600000</lodDistanceCoeff>
<terrainLODDistanceCoeff>0.700000</terrainLODDistanceCoeff>
<volumeMeshTessellationCoeff>0.500000</volumeMeshTessellationCoeff>
<reflectionMapRatio>0.500000</reflectionMapRatio>
<msaa>4</msaa>
<foliageViewDistanceCoeff>1.000000</foliageViewDistanceCoeff>
<tyreTracksSegmentsCoeff>1.000000</tyreTracksSegmentsCoeff>
<maxNumShadowLights>1</maxNumShadowLights>
<maxReflectionMaps>3</maxReflectionMaps>
</scalability>
<renderer>D3D_11</renderer>
</graphic>
Now you have FPS drop?

Oh I had totally forgotten about this thread :biggrin2:
Thanks for the input, and I'm sertain it my cpu that's the "problem" because the gpu dont run ful speed. And from what I understand this game ask alot from the cpu and not so much from the gpu! But I think I'm gonna buy a new motherboard so I can overcklock the cpu, and that will alow me to upgrade further in the future to. Because the one that I have now is the 200 series chipset.. I had a really limited budget when I baught it :mrgreen: but will also try that thing with LOD to *thumbsup*
