GE very slow and unresponsive

Since I upgraded my monitor to the acer predator 2k 144hz, editing in GE has become very slow and unresponsive. Basic tasks like duplicating is very slow, which means I cant actually go about editing as I normally would have.
Does anyone have an information on this issue?
