Setup and Display Issues causing hanging and outright crashing

i love FS15, so today i got FS17 from Origin for my PC (win10/ryzen 5 1600/16gb ram/1gb 580 saphire nitro GPU/samsung SSD... all fully updated and newly installed in june with a 2.5k monitor), and i haven't been able to play it yet after two hours of trying to get it going.

1> i cannot update it, Origin says it's updated. i DL the file directly from GS and it says i am missing the US EN version of the game
2> I am using a Logitech Gamepad controller and it doesn't seem to like it, it is updated-delayed movement/jerky control
3> adjusting any of the settings(resolution/hardware/windowed/volume etc) leads to hangups, crashing, or severe pixellation. leaving the settings as is leaves the game looking like early 90's graphics with extremely bad resolution for either of my monitors.

i've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, rebooting my computer etc.

In order to be able to help here it would be good if you could post the log.txt file of the game here, so that others can get a better idea of your setup (see the link 'log.txt' in my signature for instructions).

okay... one question, if i cannot get it to function how would there be a log?

The game creates a log no matter what, even if it's just to say why it crashed on start up
