changing mod folder location (MAC)

Hello,

I am using the latest Mac OS version, I found out that my mods folder is installed on the application support area..... I want to install the mod folder on a different drive. I found that this should be possible by editing the .xml file inside fs17 folder in application support.https://imgur.com/a/34SlMye

In the imgur link you can see what I did, I changed it to true and then I changed the directory, when I do this I dont see my mods in game and when I go back to the file it changes back to false and in its original directory.

If anyone can help its very much appreciated.
