Question. We're looking at Hughes Net Gen 5, which has a speed of 25 Mbps. Is that fast or slow for internet?

It really depends on how much stuff your running on net, cause we have a local Internet company called windstream, but we use to have i think 25mbps, but we had 2 PCs and 4 PS3, we couldn't play a game without lag, but we bumped it up to 50 mbps cause we got PS4s obviously and we have no idea what lag is, so i think it depends on what is running on Internet, we usually get a Internet outage, makes us mad when playing online games, sometimes it has its lows and highs.

It will be fine as long as there isn't multiple devices using the connection to download or update programs simultaneously.

I've got 60 mbs and have no problems, but with 25 mbs you'll have to make sure not too many people are using it at the same time

I heard that the satellite Internet is expensive, we were actually thinking about trying it.

Doubt it red and bigc satellite is ok as a last resort but speeds are generally stuff and cost a fortune plus you will have massive ping so most multiplayer games are a no.
