on FS 15 I think the kind of fertializer you use might count but i'm not sure I seem to get a better yield when using slurry in fS15 over using say the liquid you just buy then apply in a spray. on a field with canola I usualy get 14 tons in 4 passes with wheat its 14 tons per pass 2 passes for barely. something like that. so a big field I would get 55 tons of canoloa 150 tons of wheat 120 tons of barely ect.
No in FS 17, so far i'm lucky to get 21 tons off any of the 3 fields in wheat about 13 tons of barely and canola about9 tons.
on our farm in real life we get on winter wheat 300 bushels per hectar we are pure organic certified now 10 years.

All crops have different yields and all methods of fertilizing give the same yield bonus whether it's slurry or a sprayer etc. This applies to fs15 and fs17. Higher or lower selling price has no effect on harvest yield.

Think I figured out the stages they are color coded to the map growing chart has 4 colored bands each is a stage that corresponds to the field map. Same thing is on the harvest chart. I assume this is for withered setting.

Erica there is 3 different ready to harvest states, after the darkest orange I think the colour changes to brown if you have withering enabled. If not it just stays the darkest stage orange until you do something with the field.

Step 1: cultivate
Step 2: plant radish
Step 3: plow radish into ground. Gives you 40% right there
Step 4: plant crop with seeder and fertilizer additional 30% for a total of 70%
Step 5: grow one stage put down fertilizer or use a weeder. Now you have 100% fertilization at the bare minimum cost.
If you want to do it faster:
Step 1: plow (10%)
Step 2: plant radish with seeder and fertilizer (you're at 40% now)
Step 3: plant crop with seeder (one that cultivates at the same time) and fertilizer (you're at 100%)

Yes, I know... I'm lazy!

The less crop you get from the same field with a different crop, the more it is worth. For instance, soybeans don't make much, so you get money's. If you plant wheat, you get a lot of food, so you get less money's. It's just like economics. The less you have, the more you will charge, the more have the less you charge.

Manure and slurry are where the free cash is at. Both of which can be sold at the BGA for cash. Not much but it's free income. Turn them into cash and digestate.

It only becomes the most valuable by selling the straw.

Yep. On hard you get about $1,000 for 30,000l of slurry. It's not much BUT that's $1,000 you miss out on by just throwing slurry on the fields. Plus if you only use digestate you don't need a manure spreader.
