I am trying to add my channel to my profile here on the forum and it seems it doesn't want to work.
I put in this: UCSK5zGISL6Qq1Q2nc9LXgGQ and it doesn't work. It goes to here: https://www.youtube.com/user/UCSK5zGISL6Qq1Q2nc9LXgGQ when it should go here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSK5zG ... Q2nc9LXgGQ
It says "USER" on the forum, whereas YouTube has it "CHANNEL" now in the URL.

Re: YouTube Channel on Profile
YouTube has both User ID and Channel ID. I think you are putting in your channel ID and not your user ID.
Try this from Google support:
https://support.google.com/youtube/answ ... 1?hl=en-GB
Check your account at the top right to find your User ID.
If you get 100subs and you can pick a unique shorter User ID. See example in my signature. Makes it much easier.
Btw, gave you a sub. Always like watching FS videos.
Hope that helps

Re: YouTube Channel on Profile
Ok, I tried it and it still didn't work. I don't know what could be causing this.
Here is my ID's:
Here is my ID's:
I tried both and none worked on the profile... Keeps saying "Channel doesn't exist." I am not saying it is your fault, it just seems odd. Oh, and thanks for the sub.YouTube User ID: SK5zGISL6Qq1Q2nc9LXgGQ
YouTube Channel ID: UCSK5zGISL6Qq1Q2nc9LXgGQ

Yep, that don't work either. https://www.youtube.com/user/SK5zGISL6Qq1Q2nc9LXgGQJohnDeere318 wrote:Ok, I tried it and it still didn't work. I don't know what could be causing this.

Ok this bugged me. So I just looked through a few posts in the YouTube forums, and I think I've found out why. Sorry, seems I was wrong and assumed that the User ID was the user name. It is not.
Sadly, Google changed the way user names are given out and used in YouTube. Prior to about December 2014 you could register your own user name, but then Google totally changed how new accounts get user names. New channels after that date get Channel IDs and User IDs for the account. Both of those are not user names. They also added the default to use "/channel/" for links with prefix "UC"´+Channel ID, but they did keep the other URL for "/user/" for those with real user names or those that qualify for registering a new user name. Yeah, it's complicated.
So, for example my channel can be accessed with this:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4tbQf ... LHjQ76ZQtg which is the UC+Channel ID link.
or this
https://www.youtube.com/user/PsnMiura74 which is the user name.
As this phpBB board might be quite old, relatively speaking, I am guessing it links using the old YouTube method, which is not really valid for newer accounts today, unless you do happen to have a user name.

That's kind of what I was thinking too about the forum being a tad old. I think I will just put it in my signature. Oh well, thanks anyway man, I appreciate it. :hi
