What does RCV stand for?
Google offers a lot of options like remote controled vehicle, riot control vehicle, etc. and none of them obviously are not what we are talking here.
Can anybody enlighten me? Thanks.

Nope I'm talking about RCV. It's refuse collection vehicle. It's a Volvo FM9 8x4.

There is no excuse for the truck driver to not know the height of his load. In most states anything taller than 13ft 6 inches tall is considered oversized and requires permits and particular routing. With that being said, oversize load regulations vary from state to state. This load should have been measured and the route the driver was taken should have been checked beforehand to insure the load would fit under all the bridges.

I work safety and compliance for the 4th largest flatbed carrier in the US, and have had a class A commercial drivers licence for 17 years. This is not an amateur opinion.

All that stuff was out of our hands, I would have thought the dealer or at least the factory would have hired better help or did what donejob says.
however I think the driver missed that turn to go around the bridge and its easy to do, the turn off for the trucks use here, is off a bend in the road so you take the turn off and your warning is little to none. And lots of big rigs hit that bridge too could be a design flaw of the roadway.

Are there trees and stuff in the way? If they keep missing that, something should be done to that certain stop so this doesn't happen again.

I remember Caltrans posted something on that bridge last year saying they were going to increase its height to 15.9 do it with federal money.

Let's hope that happens, so that another incident like this never occurs again. Have they started doing anything with the bridge edit yet?
