Challenger 1000 series

Post by dunnjob »

I just saw that Challenger has a relatively new 1000 series tractor. This is a fixed frame tractor with up to 517 hp. I am assuming this is really the same thing as a Fendt 1000 series, but it would be nice to have as a mod.

It is definitely a Fendt 1000 series tractor, just painted yellow. Which I am not suprised about it. There has been a lot of talk about Fendt leaving the North American market and Challenger leaving the European market. If this does end up happening we may see more yellow Fendts or green Challengers.

It almost has the Deutz-Fahr series 9 look to it, but it does look awesome.

Yup. Definitely the same tractor. Same specs and looks the same.

No, it's not the same. Challenger has a simplyfied driving joystick. That's the difference I can spot on pictures :P.
But it's a pretty big difference, it's all in the driving comfort :), one of the most important factors for long days of work.

From a business perspective, this seems logical. It allows each division to concentrate on their particular market. It would definitely streamline marketing if nothing else.

Definitely, it good be a very good decision. However Fendt seems to be very popular among the hay/dairy farmers out around me, so we may need to see a little more tractor sharing to make it a good idea.
