Challenger and Fendt merger in Europe
Challenger and Fendt merger in Europe
I'm not sure if this is a viable information but there it is.

Yeah that's kinda known right now. From what I understand (and I might be wrong) they'll go with "In EU everything is Fendt, no Challenger anymore and in the US it's the other way around"

Yup, it seems so.
There are lot of controversial comments about a green Challenger tracked tractor but I think it looks good.
I always liked the old Fendt green and their engine sounds. Hope they would also make it to FS17.

Re: Challenger and Fendt merger in Europe
Yes, AGCO is heading that direction indeed, Fendt out of American region, Challenger out of Europe, Fendt getting spayers, tracked tractors and Challenger getting wheeled tractors from Fendt design and who knows what else. Katana in Challenger might do well in America also?
I am afraid the brand Fendt will become a bit less connected to "durability, quality and innovation" then when it would have stayed it's own brand.
But we'll see how it goes.

Haven't ever really seen any Challenger tractors and equipment in the Netherlands though...

True, tracked tractors maybe a few as mostly with soil/road building corporations with a trailed dozer blade, articulated tractors are too big for the Netherlands, and the normal wheeled Challengers were never sold over here.
Some spayers and (previous Ag-Chem) Challenger Terragators are sold in the Netherlands aswell (must be, as they are also produced here). But in general I don't think the Challenger brand has been that succesfull in the Netherlands.

Because in Europe It is sprayers they sell, on the UK website at least. The tractors and combines are Fendtrody12 wrote:Haven't ever really seen any Challenger tractors and equipment in the Netherlands though...

That right there makes me sad......guess the phrase "The GOOD green tractor" goes the wayside in the US again for the second time in 50 years. :/Lisertan wrote:Yeah that's kinda known right now. I assume you mean Oliver. I spent many a hour driving Oliver tractors but I wouldn't say it was the better green tractor. I will stick with Deere.

So they are saying that Challenger will no longer be sold in Europe and Fendt will no longer be sold in the USA? Or am I getting this wrong?

They were early fans of diesels, while most JD's were still 2cyl poppers.
