Reverse drive tractors

Post by dunnjob »

How often do you use the "Reverse Drive" function on the Valtras and Fendts? I just about always have a Valtra in my fleet, especially for hay operations. Even so I rarely use the reverse drive. It is a nice feature and is a cool addition to the game, but I wonder how much everyone is using it.

I guess you can use these tractors as swathers using the mowers. I believe the Fendt 900 series is one of these tractors. Since the game has come out I have never bought a Valtra tractor so not sure which of these does this. My fleet normally consist MF' NH, Caseih and mod Deeres

I have only Fendt 800 and 900's, but I never use it. Only thing to use it for would be the Pöttinger triple mower, which I don't use since it has to be Lely for me.
Or the silage blade on the silo, but I rather use that thing on the front hitch.

For the Valtra I see some nice use in combination with the 3-point log arm, but I never do logging myself.

Also for real life options, all the above things pretty much sums it up where to use it for :)

You can basically hook up the pot tenders and a windrow we on the front and reverse drive it

Although I never have done it (takes too long), you can use the 3-point forage harvester with a reverse drive tractor. But, for reasons that I can't figure, you can't hire a worker in reverse drive mode.

I have the smallest valtra and use it for hay and cows it works good and the price is right but the hp is enough for the yellow slurry spreader and for the joskin manure spreader but more power is needed i have rarely used reverse drive only for silage and it works just not a game changer

I have one that I use for logging.
The front end has the Biobeltz log arm, the rear has a stump grinder.
I like to use both of these "forward". I change direction as needed.

This same machine becomes the tipper-train-tug during the harvest.
I think it helps cornering a road train with a rear-steer setup.

Plus, it looks strange operating in reverse. That appeals to me.

The Valtra's are pretty tractors and I have used them alot... But the only time I've used reverse drive was when mowing with the pottingers, or pushing silage.

Ya I guess silage might be a bit easier with reverse drive

I do a lot of hay bales while crops are growing and while I am waiting for prices to change and I use the reverse drive if I have it available. I will place the Pottinger mowers on the back and run a Tedder on the front. It saves a step and helps to balance out the tractor.
