I started at my company at 16 and I'm now part of the furniture! I'm a tungsten carbide metallurgist, so almost nothing to do with farming. Although, from time to time we've made tips for ploughing up Australia! A few months back I had my hands on some cutter tips used to make bolt fixing holes for a Cultivator manufacturer, although I was doing that as a favour for another firm, so I didn't really get the full story!

Powder metallurgy is quite specialised and when I was on day release at University, we had a few afternoons on the subject, and I corrected the lecturer in the first session :biggrin2:

When he tried to question how I knew that, I told him what I did for a living.. He didn't speak to me again after that.. What was more annoying was there wasn't a single exam question on the subject!

I was born and grew up on small farm. Took it over when Dad retired. Farmed for several years, but sold out when economy went bad in early 80's. Went to work at a factory. Took early retirement offer from company and now travel around with wife to our different vacation rental properties to check and do maintenance on. In one now looking over the beach at the ocean. Rough life.

Currently I am studying Nature & forest management, as its called here in the Netherlands. Can expand later into logging, international logging business, ecology and stuff like that.

My grandfather used to own a contracting company ( guess thats what its called in English?), basically, farmers and other people can hire them to do work for them. Jobs like mowing grass, harvesting maize and other jobs. My uncle took the company over a couple years ago. So I grew up in a farming environment. :)

Feel free to ask questions! Hope you understand it hahaha

I'm a deputy sheriff, and I do car audio on the side. I'm known across the country as #basscop and have a large build in my Blazer that I am sponsored with. I also have a fairly successful Facebook and YouTube page dedicated to my truck and car audio.

I spent most of my childhood on a farm as we had livestock and did row crops. Being I'm a bit older now I enjoy the older tractor and implements that I was around when I was younger (wish there was more in the game!) My dads side of the family still has a family farm that is over 100 years old. Sadly ther is little to no farming by the family no more. The fields are still used though as they are leased out to other area farmers for their crops.

My job sounds so boring compared to all you guys. I work for a pub chain in the UK in their kitchen mainly washing dishes. Now and then I help out on the "cook" side. I use that term loosely as most food is mass cooked elsewhere then frozen and put into a microwave. Very few items are cooked fresh but that's the price you pay for working with a company that own over 3000 premises and hire over 25,000 staff members cheap and quick for very little profit compared to fresh cooking

Nice! I have many Eagle's in my family, including my dad. Currently I'm a Star Scout, but I still have 3 years left to get Eagle.

Head Chef / Manager at a country dining pub (c1600’s coaching in with traditional flagstones and taxidermy on the walls) in Somerset, England. We are nestled between the Quantock, Brendon and Mendip Hills and the Bristol Channel - surrounded by fields and valleys not unlike The West Coast (we have open heathland rather than mountains though). As I look out of our kitchen window I see sheep, cows, wild red deer and pheasants...... and the local contractor injecting digestate into the ground with a brand new Fendt 936..... tough life!!
