F1 HALO and new logo

Post by DevilkidHUN »

So, as we already know, Tha last race is finished.
And with this, the logo is changed, and HALO will be on the cars :/
if it will save someone's life, then let it be there.
And it can look good with a right design.
But the new logo is not that good as it was :hmm:

I'm all for safety in F1 with the cars, but who ever thought it would be a good idea to stick a big ole bar in the middle of the drivers view was a complete and utter moron. This is only made worse for the taller drivers who will get more of the V in their view. Then F1 has been really stupid in the weight limits, only allowing for half of what every team is saying is needed to fully install the device.

Indeed Jenna, the view will be blocked, that could never increase safety.

Ahwell, as long as Max is doing ok, next year will be a good year anyway :P

ya that thing is a bit weird, I would have gone for something like a upside down U shape over the drivers head which would remove 0 visibility

Well I think they have settled on this current design to prevent head on impacts which has caused some serious injuries and deaths, but still you have this big heavy, obstructing pillar in front of you that i takes up far too much vision. I play the F1 games when they come out and I find that small little pitot tube on the nose of the car to be annoying enough, I hate to see what the halo would be like. Personally I think an aeroscreen would have been a better option or going a fully enclosed cockpit.

Over exaggerated safety in F1 will be the end of it. Mark my words.
No F1 driver has ever sat behind a wheel knowing that they will be perfectly safe.
They know the risks and they embrace them. Because racing is a true love worth dying for.
Anything that degrades the pure connection between the driver, car and track will be a huge mistake.
It always had been.

They don't take those safety precautions to protect the drivers. Believe me. It is just a cover for a disgusting reason.
And that is money. Nobody wants to watch a driver burn to death. They are trying to avoid that just to keep the money flowing. Thats all.
Everybody in F1 world knows this. There is no %100 safety and drivers really don't care about the lack of it.
It is of course good to be on the safe side and do whatever can be done in a reasonable way but not like that. Not with utterly stupid ideas or applications like the HALO.

Same stupidity goes for the new logo. Every single human being involved in any part of that logo should be hanged at the city square. Period.
