Ok. Thank you very much As a console guy I'm not familiar with the PC side of things.
But it seems using mods at the start on a map is possible but is not preferable in most cases.
Especially on consoles. So, I wonder what would Mappers Paradise do with the Welker Farms map.
They have this poll for the starting equipment and BigBud DLC is amongst the options.
Thats where this question raised.

The potential problem is when the mod vehicle used for the starting equipment on the map is updated and the mod versions no longer correlate.
For the Stappenbach map they included the modded vehicle "within the map" as a workaround.

I guess it is different for the DLC vehicles as it is installed "as a part of the game".

I had always wondered that. There are also some placeable mods in some maps that are embeded into the map. So, the same can be done with vehicles. But I don't think it would ever be possible with the BB DLC as it is a paid product let alone there is the fact that it is installed as a part of the game like you mentioned. I'll be waiting for the map with my eyes peeled.

Could they put out two versions? One if you do have the DLC, the other with ingame starting equipment

Usually if there are mods as starting equipment ... these just wont spawn when you start the game (you will loose out on the value of them).
At least this is the way it was for FS15.

But as this is a DLC ... not sure how it will work out!?
