Just curious, is there a legal way to do that?
The gross weight of vehicles in regular operation (operating without a special permit) is governed by the provisions in Iowa Code Ann. §321.463. Iowa has multiple weight tables that pertain to primary, non-primary, and non-Interstate highways.50 Separate tables for primary highways, non-primary highways, and exceptions are provided in Iowa Code §321.463[5][a-e]. See Exhibit 25 for a summary of Iowa weight provisions under regular operations.

Tandem Axle 35,000 lbs.
Tridem Axle Per State weight table
Gross Weight 80,000 lbs. on primary and non-primary highways
90,000 lbs. on non-Interstate highways for six-axle vehicles
96,000 lbs. on non-Interstate highways for seven-axle vehicles
Other Five-axle livestock transports with a spread-axle semitrailer: 86,000; Six-axle: 90,000; Seven-axle: 96,000*
* Commercial Motor Vehicles not operating on the Interstate (Iowa Code §321.463[5][c][1])
Exemptions and Special Operations
Commodity Exemptions

Feeder, Grain Cart, or Tank Wagon: The weight on any one axle of a fence-line feeder, grain cart, or tank wagon operated on State highways may not exceed 24,000 lbs. from February 1 through May 31 or 28,000 lbs. from June 1 through January 31. The maximum gross vehicle weight of these vehicles may not exceed 96,000 lbs. (Iowa Code Ann. §321.463[4][1]).

Drmattymd wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2018 3:18 am ahhhh ok. I figured it might have something to do with number of axles but wasnt sure. One time I pulled a load out of the field and back to the farm that another driver loaded with the cart while I was doing something else, anyway, when I got to the field he was just locking the tarp down and gave me this goofy grin..Got it to the scales over 100k.. couldnt believe how good that load pulled.
Makes ya feel pretty proud our your rig when you know what it'll pull. I've hauled plenty of loads of corn from the field or elevators with corn up to the rails... Have to careful though, had a buddy that split the side of his hopper bottom all over the highway. 😰

Yep, it has the GM Diesel. I will take a few photos next time I am down at the farm. Might be a couple of weeks.

The only tractors we currently have in use are a Case Puma 180, New Holland T7.270, Case Magnum 380 and a Case Quadtrac 620. Then I would have to go out to the shop and the yard to list off all the older, not used tractors we have now. Though the coolest one is the 1910 110HP Case steam tractor. That thing is an absolute beast.

My Grandpa has a Allis Chalmers WD45
I know where a WD45 diesel here in Alabama that is an outstanding restoration candidate. I just can't seem to get the guy to put a price on it. It's been sitting in an old barn for at least 15 years and is not running.

Does it run? Can we see a pic?

I am a real life tractor junkie. I get more excited about this stuff than I do about any classic car.

I don't think I have any pics of it that are just of it. Most of them are pics from other tractors we sold and you can sort of see it in the back ground. Also it ran last year, but after taking it to a couple different events parts were starting to break on it, and firing up the boiler now would likely just lead to it destroying itself.
