Absolute mayhem here today, got up at 3:30am for work and there was easily 6-8 inches of snow. Manager text about 3:20 cancelling all the runs today and told us not to come in. I've been out driving in it and love it. We've had a red warning since 5 this morning and there another red warning issued for tomorrow too.

There's a forecaster on another forum I'm on and he rarely gets it wrong, he said yesterday that we should expect 5-15cm last night and up to midday today, he reckons another 20-4-cm tonight plus another 20-40cm tomorrow. Fun times ahead.

we have gotten quite a big amount of snow here today aswell, so much that the emergency services has called uppon the military to use m113 armored personel carriers as ambulances as the normal ambulances cannot go throught the snow in some places of the country. but i am fortunate as we have barely gotten any snow where i live

My picture from earlier was taken right before I posted it. Less than 4 hours later it now looks like this.



Companies that don't usually call it a day due to weather have taken no chances. Nearest town centre everywhere was closed for 2pm. My employer called it a day at 4. If it keeps up like its forecast to do there will be no shifts for me this week and because its the elements that caused it I don't get paid. Loopholes everywhere

Saw all the chaos in the UK on the news last night. You're having a rough go. Here, it's been a coldish winter (-30 to -40 C) and we're usually up to our bums in snow right now, but there's barely enough to cover the ground. Seems the weather gods sent it to the wrong address.

Rough is an understatement. We aren't used to levels of snow we got over the past few days. Usually about 3cms a year if we even get any at all. This past week has been chaos all over the place. Just waiting for the rain we have been forecast with to wash it all away now and get back to some sort of normality. It's taking its toll on everything, every day living, travel, and even work but because its due to the elements we have no entitlements if our shifts are affected. I've already lost 3 shifts this week.

I went out with a measuring tape and stick this morning. In my back garden it was 20cm with drifts up to 90cm. Out in an open area it was 30cm with drifts up to 60cm.

Never in my life have a I ever experienced these conditions in Ireland. 2010 was bad but not as bad as this ongoing weather event.

i wish we had snow enough on our property to build a snow house but just 20 min drive away from me they are drowning in snow and i have barely gotten any
