PlayStation had the original 2 joystick layout.
Microsoft switched the D-pad and left joystick, to avoid copyright violation.
It has always felt weird to me.

Gil~If you've "gone over to the dark side" by using an xbox remote, have I gone over by typing this on a PC?
I play on Xbox3 (Which they called the "One" for some reason)

Are we on the same page here? Because the button layout, as Guil mentioned, is way off compared to DS4. They are not even similar.

No the stick placement is different. The button layout is literally the same.

Aha, you meant just the button placement. Ok. I thought it as a whole.
But the placement of the sticks also makes the use of D-pad harder.

Ya, it was in response to you talking about button placement. I agree about the D pad. No idea why Sony keeps it up there, stuff place to have it.

I think on the contrary. Sony placement is way better imo.
First I thought it feels like as I'm used to it but even after a couple hundred hours on the xbox controller my mind hasn't changed.
Left stick placement makes the use of both D-Pad and left triggers harder than DS4.

I recently got the Xbox one elite controller, and I am not disappointed.! Its awesome with the replacement sticks and the option to set the sensitivity of the sticks. Makes turning at high speeds much smoother *thumbsup*

I have the elite as well. I love this remote.
Use the trigger on the bottom to crouch while cutting trees. (Ring finger button :) ftw!)

On the subject of controllers, I love my G-27 wheel.

^^ No, that's not autocorrect. They mean DualShock4 when they put DS4

My family has always had PlayStation and probably always will I’ve used the Xbox controllers before when visiting friends and they felt awkward but that’s because I’ve alwasy used dualshocks either way I see it as personally preference play the game how you wanna play it that’s the point isn’t it

Since reading this thread I'm now using an xbox controller with my PC.
Makes driving much easier especially compared to using the keyboard to drive and steer.
Plus a lot of the controls are the same as they were on Xbox. So result! :biggrin2:

Would love a steering wheel with pedals and stuff. But as my PC is set up in our living room I don't think my other half would appreciate it too much.

Xbox controllers are better than the horrible PlayStation controllers.... :zunge:
But I have owned an xbox since the original was released. :smileynew: so it's personal preference. :wink3:
