What kind of money are you talking about. Im not hating Im just trying to make sure you are getting the most bang for your buck. I love AMD but I would shy away from that series of processor, and run a Haswell or skylake based CPU and would expect a lot better performance in FS as they are so strong in single and dual thread performance. Also push for 16gb ram 8 is just too little and i max out my one stick with just FS open most of the time.

You don't need one unless you want really high quality sound.

I would reconsider if you haven't already purchased, That cpu will be a bottleneck I think?
What's the full model of graphics card too because there is a few different r7 250, even the 2gb one will only run the game on medium.

true guil but at $200 it will get him in the door and he can easily wait on sweet sales for a new CPU and GPU.. as for the sound card idk about high quality.. my onboard is set to run 7.1 dolby and has fantastic quality.. probably the best onboard sound card ive ever heard without question

I'm not really sure on soundcards tbh, I remember years ago i bought one when I made my first pc but I think it was pretty pointless tbh. To get a good cpu he will have to change the motherboard which means new ram, new board and new cpu and possibly new psu too.

Most motherboards have decent Sound these days. I still have one, but i didnt need it and the only way that I can tell the difference is with my Audiotechins headphones on and thats pretty rare these days

I don't know what to say Fred. Congrats I guess :biggrin2:
You know I'm not a pc guy in terms of gaming.
So, it would be a lie if I say I'm happy for you :biggrin2:

On the other hand, is it just me or the specs on that PC are actually lower than your XBOX ONE?
You sure thats a good call?

as to processor replacement it really depends on the socket.. motherboards and processors r not exclusive to each other.. a given socket type may accept a variety of processors.. also processors even of varying powers even r not created equal in terms of power consumption and therefore may or may not require a new PSU.. in the end it just depends on what his motherboard will accept and then finding the best upgrade solutions to his problem.. but even things like a new PSU isn't out of the budget considering he is getting the rig for $200.. I was able to find a 550w PSU for $50 online brand new when the wifes went the way of the dodo.. either way he has a base to build on should he wish it.. I really don't think its a bad deal in the end no matter which way it stacks up considering ive seen cases by themselves go for the neighborhood of $200+

Fx8350 is the highest rated CPU that will fit an am3+ socket and one of them is around $110 on Newegg and even then it isn't a great CPU, it's TDP is 125w too.

It's not really a good idea to skimp on a PSU especially if you have any sort of expense in a PC. Unbranded ones can be as low as half the stated power and 'dirty'.
